You Could Be the Next One

If you’ve ever felt cheated by the religion you were raised in–by your parents, the religious leaders, the community–you could be the next One.

Spirituality is a human necessity and not because we need to worship some sort of god or be smited, but because believing in a bigger force outside of human life and death calms the nervous system and allows the human to progress, thrive, and transform.

Many folks will have a rich or at least benign spiritual life because whatever community to which they belong never really wrongs them personally, so they can live and die peacefully in this way.

On the other hand, you may have been deeply hurt by something around religion: shamed, scolded, warned, punished, coerced. Potentially betrayed by the very people you thought would love you unconditionally and non-judgmentally. The subject of god becomes something of scorn and even stupidity. Then, the seeking of “something greater” to connect to dives within–the journey to finding a connection again is lonely. At times it feels impossible. It’s the quintessential moment of Mohammad asking God if he’s really cut out for this.

If you keep going and process the fear, the pain, the emptiness, the anger, you could be the next One. You could be a pioneer in the realm of how to connect with Source and leave a legacy of truer spiritual connections for people. Because as a pioneer, you come back to the homeland and spread the truth of your first hand experience. You could convince people of the beauty and glory that lies beyond their small, confined world of empty routines and drama, and encourage many to leave and discover something grand. A lot won’t listen and won’t follow you. And a lot will.

Prophets aren’t always Biblical. There have been millions–you could be the next One. Will you practice being that courageous? Blessings to you on the frontier of spirit.
